Bio
Peter McCrory is a staff research economist at LinkedIn’s Economic Graph Research Institute, where he spearheads their labor research initiatives. This work relies on LinkedIn’s unique data and vantage point to study important, policy-relevant aspects of worker and firm behavior.
Previously at LinkedIn he worked on an applied science team, serving as the tech lead for market design. In that role, he used experimentation, machine learning, and econometric tools to solve practical problems in pricing, forecasting, personalization and auction design in partnership with product, engineering, and AI teams.
Before joining LinkedIn, he was a US economist at J.P. Morgan, where he published regular, well-regarded, and widely read research on US economic conditions. He also provided weekly economic updates to sales/trading desks and handled internal & external client requests for real-time economic commentary. His research was frequently referenced in popular media, including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and the Washington Post.
Peter received his PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley and previously worked as a research associate at the St. Louis Federal Reserve.
